Donald Trump’s return to power came with a laundry list of grandiose promises. From sealing the border to uniting the country, he laid out 20 core pledges on the campaign trail—many of which he claimed would be fulfilled "on Day One." Six months into his second term, we’re taking a hard look at those promises, holding them up against cold reality and constitutional law.

Spoiler alert: it ain’t pretty.

Promise #1: Seal the border and stop the migrant invasion

Verdict: Failed

Promise #4: Make America the dominant energy producer in the world

Promise #7: Defend the Constitution and fundamental freedoms

Promise #8: Prevent World War III and build a national Iron Dome

Promise #9: End the weaponization of government

Promise #14: Protect Social Security and Medicare

• ❌ Budget bill kicks millions off of Medicaid.
• ❌ He let tech oligarchs harvest our data.
• ❌ Let scammers pitch Grandma and Grandpa meme coins.
• ❌ Fiscal policies accelerated insolvency, while backroom talks explored benefit deferrals.

Promise #15: Cancel EV mandates and cut regulations

Verdict: Partially Kept

• ⚠️Mandates canceled; lawsuits over environmental harm pending.

Promise #16: Defund schools pushing CRT or gender ideology

Verdict: Partially Kept (Cruelty Gold Card UNLOCKED!)

• ✅ DOE axed over $600M in grants tied to DEI and CRT.
• ✅ Policies weakened civil rights enforcement, inviting discrimination.
• ✅ DOE used direct rulemaking to erase protections in Title IX for trans students.

Promise #17: Keep men out of women’s sports

Verdict: Failed

• ✅ EO enforced, NCAA caved like a bitch.
• ❌ No measurable crisis — issue was exaggerated for political gain.
• ❌ Outrage was cultivated, not organic.
• ❌ Opened federal government to legal action and accusations of discrimination.

Promise #18: Deport pro-Hamas radicals and clean up campuses

Promise #20: Unite the country and bring record success

Final Grade: F

Trump wrote a lot of checks he knew his ass could not cash. What we’ve seen is an authoritarian circle jerk, constitutional violations, policy incoherence, and culture war escalation—all while the actual promises crumble under the weight of reality.

Trump’s America isn’t greater. It’s not great. It’s not even remotely tolerable. It’s just louder, meaner, and dumber than ever.

If the only promise that you made, that you somehow managed to fully keep involves you being a racist, phobic piece of shit, punch the next person that has the audacity to tell you this is what America voted for right in the fucking throat.
